New Haircut: The Bob Hairstyle

New Haircut: The Bob Hairstyle

As a stylist, there are a variety of haircuts that I’ve been considering lately; prominently the roundabout and the bob, despite the fact that I have a round face.

With round faces, long hair with lengthy layers and gentle waves are recommended. While the smooth and sleek hairstyles could counter some of my rounder features and elongate my face, I’d rather accentuate my natural look! There are a few short haircuts that will accommodate my circular visage.

The roundabout haircut presents a very modern, versatile cut that can be shaped for a variety of different looks, but a classy style that accents any face with a fresh look is surely the classic Bob hairstyle.

It’s also a simple request at any salon; just ask that it be slightly shorter in the back with a very subtle layering that descends seamlessly into the front. Bangs should be straight and cut just above the eyebrows for a look that will really bring out your face, neck, and shoulders. For those with rounder faces like me, perhaps avoiding the cut, request longer, side-swept bangs.

Perhaps it’s time for you to get a new haircut? Bearing that in mind, it's always time for someone to get a new haircut, so why not renew your state cosmetology license?

Men – The Hottest Trend in Hairstyling

bowl cut

It’s one of the great truths of haircutting: The shorter the style, the more often it needs cutting. That’s one reason why men’s haircuts are the fastest growing segment of the $59 billion annual haircutting industry.

Men also tend to be creatures of habit, getting their hair cut based more on the calendar than what they look like (every 3 – 4 weeks on average), making them very dependable clients. And in a recession, a dependable client is a hairdresser’s most valuable asset.

So right now it just makes good sense to make sure you’re up to date on all the latest men’s hairstyles so that you can keep all your male clients satisfied and coming back for more.

For example, do you know the differences between the military-style High-and-Tight Cut and the High-and-Tight Recon Cut? Those who wear them do.

Today’s men have more hairstyles to choose from than ever before.

There are the traditional Burr, Crew Cut and Flat Top Cuts, of course, but there are also the t;strong>Butch, the Caesar and the Fade; the Bowl Cut, the Brush Cut and the Businessman’s Cut; the Ivy League, the Taper Cut, the perennial Pompadour and the all-new anime-inspired Emo Cuts, to name just a few.

Some of these cuts can be as intricate as women’s hairstyles, requiring quality instruction and practice to master. But the payback makes it a sound investment.

The fastest growing segment in any market is the place to be if you want your business to grow. In the grooming industry, that segment is men’s haircuts.

Keeping current and proficient at styling men’s hair is critical to success in today’s grooming market.

If you'd like a bob but want enough length so you can pull hair back, consider Eva's hairstyle. It has less layers, so the shape is denser, fuller. To vary it, try moving the

part, but beware of the precise center part because it makes full face look wider. This cut's perfect for you if your hair is fine and straight; if it's too thick it will get too bushy. Unless your face is long and narrow, this one could work for you.
